The FIA has published the official list of teams and drivers for the 2024 Formula 1 Championship. The new name of the former Alfa Romeo F1 has been revealed, but not Alpha Tauri.

Alfa Romeo withdrew from Formula 1 at the end of this season and ended its title sponsorship with Swiss team Sauber – ahead of (and because of) Audi’s gradual acquisition of a majority stake in Sauber by the end of 2025.

The Hineville team will not be renamed Audi F1 until 2026 at the earliest, so a transition name had to be found for these two years. So it incorporated its two main sponsors – both from Australia – into its name and will now be called Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber from 2024. Your new car will be called KICK Sauber C44.

As a result, the Sauber name returns after six years in the sport (from the 2017 season), while Alfa Romeo will not be there next year as it failed to secure a sponsorship deal with the Haas team, which also uses Ferrari engines.

Alpha Tauri will also reportedly change its name for 2024. However, the new name was not announced along with the official FIA list. This is something the association allows teams to do after consulting with the specific wishes and requirements of the teams’ sponsors.

The reports, which have yet to be confirmed, suggest that the Faenza club will adopt the new name Racing Bulls, in line with the words of the club’s chief executive Peter Bayer “The new identity will appeal to her family again Red Bull, what it was like for her Toro Rosso”. The Red Bull subsidiary is also receiving new sponsors from the USA.

With a slight name change, there is finally a third team: Aston Martin F1 no longer has Cognizant as title sponsor, but the Saudi oil company Aramco – according to a new contract between the two sides that runs until the end of 2028.

Below you can see the list of drivers and teams with their official names for Formula 1 2024. We remind you that for the new year all teams kept their twin drivers from 2023 unchanged.
