The Ukrainian driver became the fastest at the start of the first stage of Formula 4 in 2026.
Today, January 17, the first stage of the prestigious Formula 4 Middle East championship started, in which Ukrainian Alexander Bondarev participated.
As with most race series, there are training sessions leading up to major events (qualifying and the race itself). They don’t always accurately reflect the true balance of power, but they allow you to establish a general trend at the beginning of the scene.
Training at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi was a good start for Alexander. The Ukrainian immediately set the pace and set the fastest time of the session.
Moreover, this has become a pattern, not an exception. Bondarev also spent among the leaders in pre-season testing, which ended a few days ago, and also led training on Friday.
Now all that remains is to consolidate the momentum in decisive sessions that bring results in the form of positions and points. Qualifications for the first stage will take place on Saturday at 11:10 and 11:20 Kiev time.

Liverpool goalkeeper handed harsh suspension for racism
Liverpool goalkeeper, German Rafaela Borggrafe, has been suspended for six games for using a racial slur towards a team-mate.
The incident occurred during the team’s pre-season training and Liverpool have reported it to the FA for investigation.
The player has already played five games under suspension, the last of which will be this weekend’s FA Cup match against London Bees.
Liverpool manager Gareth Taylor said the club had taken the “appropriate” action and supported the FA’s decision.
“It’s been a long process and it’s been frustrating for everyone, especially Rafaela. I’m glad the process is complete and we know more about what happened. We can now turn the page,” he added. Borggrafe joined from Freiburg this summer and has made three appearances for England.
