UEFA statement: ‘This ruling does not support Super League’
of UEFA A statement issued in response to the European Supreme Court’s judgment said:This judgment does not imply recognition or validation of the so-called “Super League”, but rather the existing deficiencies within UEFA’s pre-authorization framework, technical aspects of which have already been recognized and addressed in June 2022. It highlights what was going on. “UEFA is confident in the robustness of the new rules and, in particular, in their compliance with all relevant European laws and regulations.”
The highest body reiterates its defense and commitment to “.We will protect the pyramid of European football and ensure that it continues to contribute to the broader interests of society. We will continue to work with national federations, leagues, clubs, fans, players, coaches, EU institutions, governments and partners to shape the European sporting model. ”
The statement ends by trusting that:European football’s solidarity-based pyramid, declared by fans and all stakeholders as its irreplaceable model, will be protected from the threat of disruption by European and national legislation.”
