Not Red Bull. Formula 1’s most expensive teams have been announced
Forbes publication evaluated the value of Formula 1 teams and the top spots do not include Red Bull, which currently dominates F1.
The most expensive teams are Mercedes and Ferrari; each is worth $3.8 billion. In this case, the cost is affected not only by sporting success, but also by the power behind the two car brands.
“Formula 1 is no longer just a sport to win trophies. Investors and sponsors have a financial rationale for investing money. It’s not just for fun,” said Mercedes boss Toto Wolff.
Red Bull ranks third in terms of team value. The current champion is worth $2.6 billion.
