One person died after a car hit spectators during a rally in the Leningrad region
During the Leningrad Region Rally Cup, a racing car ran into spectators, killing one person, reports the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the region.
The emergency occurred on Saturday near the village of Melnikovo, Priozersky district, Leningrad region. Investigators opened a criminal case under the article on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Leningrad Region clarified that one of the competition participants lost control and ran over two men standing on the side of the road. A man born in 1975 was seriously injured and died in a medical facility; another victim was released after being examined by doctors.
The Leningrad Region Prosecutor’s Office reported that the Priozersk City Prosecutor’s Office has taken control of the progress of the criminal case.
