A tribute to La Roja’s three “dinosaurs”
A warm tribute was paid by the women’s team who played their 100th match for La Roja to the three “dinosaurs” baptized by Jenni Hermoso herself. The current World Champions and Nations League Champions will pay tribute to the three national team members who have surpassed the 100-match mark this Tuesday before the match against Belgium at Riazor. Alexia Puteras, Jenni Hermoso, and Irene Paredes.
“Tomorrow’s match at Riazor is more than just a match: our centenarians will receive a well-deserved honour on the pitch after the warm-up,” the Spanish federation said, urging fans to come to the stadium “as early as possible” to take part in the memorial service.
The match in A Coruña, on the final day of EuroCup qualifiers in Switzerland next summer, will be the national team’s final test before the Paris Olympics.
Montse Tomé’s team will train this afternoon at the Deportivo Stadium, following a press appearance by the coach and player Teresa Abeileira.
