Nico Williams took 10 points from Muniain to leave Djalo with 11.
Nico Williams will wear the number 10 shirt in the Athletic uniform. The red and white striker thus takes over the number left by captain Iker Muniain until last season. The Navarra striker’s number 11 will be worn this season by the recently signed Djalo.
“The number 10 looks good. Muni, I asked him for it too. To tell you the truth, I’m very proud to wear this number and to make history like him,” Williams himself declares in a video published by Muni. At the red and white club, you can see him give Djalo the number 11 and print the number 10 on the shirt with his name.
The Red and Whites club remain calm about the little Williams’ future. The fact that Nico will wear the same number as his last captain is important. The international winger is also continuing to prepare in time to be included in the squad for at least next Thursday’s game against Getafe.
Regarding Athletic’s shirt numbers, it is also worth noting that Alaves player Golosabel will wear the number 2. Marton will wear number 19, Unai Gomez number 20, Nico Serrano number 22 and third goalkeeper Padilla number 26.
