“When the KAMAZ began to develop speed, I began to sweat as if in a warm-up” – Alexander Erokhin
Zenit footballer Alexander Erokhin shared his impressions of a test drive in the cockpit of a KAMAZ-master team racing truck.
On Friday, a test drive of KAMAZ vehicles took place at the Gazprom Arena. In addition to three new trucks, a sports truck of the K5 family, KAMAZ-435091, participated in it, which was presented by the KAMAZ-master team led by the pilot, Honored Master of Sports Dmitry Sotnikov.
— The test drive made more of an impression. They took us for a ride, showed us the maximum possible speed here that the car can develop, and how it rolls. They said that at a professional race the car may have a maximum limit of 140 km/h, which means that it is unsafe to gain high speed. Here, I think, there was less, but nevertheless, at this start they made it felt. It was exciting. They demonstrated maneuvers and how the cabin and engine work. Very interesting. But in one day you cannot learn everything that can be felt as a pilot or navigator.
— What emotions did you experience while inside?
— When we started to develop speed, we can say that I started to sweat, like during a warm-up. Because such speed is affected by excitement and emotions. “It’s not an easy matter,” a Match TV correspondent quotes Erokhin as saying.
