Elche attacks Ipurua fortress
he elche We attacked the fort again this Saturday. Eibaras Sporting de Gijon did a few days ago, beating the local team 0-2 and achieving a goal at the end of the first half, which allowed them to stay on top, while Eibar I moved away from the noble region of pursuit.
The match, which appeared to be even, got off to a good start with Elche making a bold start, but it was Eibar who were first alerted by Zebel Alcain’s high shot. However, Elche also wanted to get their point across, and Murad had a clear chance with a header in the 14th minute, but it just missed the target.
A minute later, Sergio Alvarez broke free and sent the ball to the goalkeeper’s feet in a very clear moment. Eibar continued to hang on and two minutes later Nolaskoain put the Elche goal in danger again with a shot from distance, but DiTuro did well to stop the ball.
Peru fired a long shot in the 22nd minute, but Elche’s goalkeeper easily saved it. In the absence of a clear ruler, matches were played from power to power, keeping the game balanced.
The greatest parity throughout this period was narrowly broken by a shooting attempt from a distance. But in the 41st minute, Elche’s good play ended with an unattractive header from Alvarez, who deflected the ball out of Fusato’s reach and into the net.
In the confusion, gunsmith Noras Koane was able to close the gap with an additional shot, but in the next counterattack, Murad used his foot to send the ball into the net from inside the area, making the score 0-2. . It was a devastating blow for Eibar, who headed to the locker room with a very unfavorable score.
For this reason, the gunsmiths had to give their all in the second half. Bautista tried in the 50th minute, but his shot went wide.
Despite the advantage, Eder Sarabia’s team maintained its intensity and did not let Eibar play. The green and white team was very comfortable.
After 30 minutes, Eibar had already advanced everything. The gunsmiths and others were examined by VAR for a handball inside the Elche area and requested a penalty, but it was denied.
Elche was comfortable with that advantage. Not only that, but Alex had a clear chance in the 71st minute with a brilliant shot, but it just couldn’t go on target.
Eibar tried but had few attacking ideas. Coach Echeverria tried to add reinforcements from the bench, but the substitutions had no effect.
The only noteworthy point was that DiTuro had no trouble stopping Colpas’ long-range shot, which had already passed regulation time, and in addition, Mada’s header on the final play was high on target, making it the perfect match for this Saturday’s game. It was a perfect illustration of Eibar’s inability to score.
