Ferrari driver Leclerc will lose 10 positions at the start of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for replacing the battery
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc was fined 10 positions at the start of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race, according to the Formula 1 website.
Leclerc will lose 10 positions for replacing the battery. This is the third battery on the Monegasque car with two allowed during the championship.
In the individual competition, the title was won ahead of schedule by Red Bull driver Max Verstappen (429 points). McLaren pilot Lando Norris is second (349), Leclerc is third (341).
In the Constructors’ Championship, Ferrari is in second place with 619 points before the last stage, behind McLaren (640).
Williams drivers Alexander Albon and Franco Colapinto will each lose five positions at the start of the race – the gearboxes on their cars have been replaced.
Later on Friday, the second free practice session will take place at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix; Leclerc was the best in the first practice session. The race at the Abu Dhabi Circuit will take place on Sunday.
