Bayern won’t throw in the towel with Alphonso Davies
Bayern Munich no longer believe it is possible to renew Alphonso Davies’ contract after months of haggling over the Canadian full-back’s contract extension. The signing of Davies is one of Real Madrid’s main goals for next season, and it has been virtually a given for several months that he would arrive at the Bernabéu to reinforce the left flank of the white defence. It was getting worse.
Bayern have had their share of ups and downs with Alphonso Davies’ agent, who came to the negotiating table asking for the highest salary in the team, but was flatly rejected by the management.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Davies has decided to wait until 2025 to accept Bayern’s offer. It must be remembered that the Canadian will be free to negotiate with any club from January 1, 2025, as his contract with Bayern ends on June 30, 2025.
A very strong team, in addition to Real Madrid, who have been chasing him for months trying to do the same as in the days of Alaba and Rudiger (who came with letters of freedom after their contracts with Bayern and Chelsea respectively expired) There are some too. Manchester United and Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Davies’ situation.
The Old Trafford club have been combing the market for top-level full-backs and would have also had their eye on Girona winger Miguel Gutierrez, in whom Madrid own 50% of the federation rights. Barça are relying on Hansi Flick’s connections to persuade the Canadian to come to Camp Nou next year.
