The Turkish authorities will seek the inclusion of the Turkish Grand Prix in the Formula 1 calendar from the next season, says Autosport.
According to the source, the Turkish Federation of Motorsport with the full support of the country’s government offers Formula 1 leadership a long -term contract. The venue for the races will be the capital’s highway “Istanbul -Park”.
The Turkish Grand Prix can replace the 2026 race in Madrid in the calendar of the season, where the route has not yet been finally certified. The best time for the stage will be September, which will facilitate logistics, since in September the Azerbaijan Grand Prix of Azerbaijan takes place in a nearby Baku.
The Grand Prix of Turkey Formula 1 previously took place in 2005–2011 and 2020–2021.
At the same time, Turkey has a strong competitor: Thailand claims to enter the Royal Race calendar. The Thai government allocated $ 1.2 billion for street racing in the metropolitan Bangkok since 2028.
