The American motorist died in competitions, accelerating to 455 km/h
The American motorist Chris Rashka died while trying to set a speed record for the bonneville in the staff of Utah, CBS reports.
The accident occurred on Sunday, August 3, at annual competitions of super -speed streamlines. The 60 -year -old pilot, striving for a new record, accelerated to the mark of 283 miles per hour (about 455 km/h), but lost control of the vehicle.
Despite the promptly provided medical care at the scene, the athlete died of injuries. Representatives of the South California timing association (SCTA) and local authorities are investigating the accident and its causes.
Rashka worked in motorsport for more than forty years and for 13 years was in the Speed Demon team, he broke up behind the wheel of the streamline of the same name.
