Mark Marquez’s Ducati problem for curve 2: “We threw almost the weekend”

Marc Márquez continues to expand the legend with MotoGP 2025. Cervera pilots took the conpotastable Double at the Hungary Grand Prix, held at the demanding Balaton Park, signed pole positions, turning the advantage into victory in both Saturday and Sunday sprint races. These results have already accumulated 14 consecutive victories between Saturday and Sunday, but in addition to 18 consecutive victories, it follows the podium that integrates the domain at the Ducati des Mocecci GP25.

The numbers speak for themselves. So far, Marquez has presented 93% of his victory and 100% of his podium in the sprint races. On Sunday, it wasn’t too late: 71.5% win and 86% of the podium presence. A performance that ensures that Ducati’s commitment to the eight-time world champion is correct.

However, it twists in just a few seconds on weekends. It all happened in curve 2 in the first round on Sunday when Marquez was surprised by the traces of Marco Betzecchi in April. Contacts damaged the front wing section on the right side of the Ducati. This is a set-off that checks the pilot’s performance. Potting the motorcycle with a broken “winglet” means losing the stability of the front train and compromising the curved speed.

Nevertheless, Marquez returned and provided a sample of his ability to adapt. He adjusted his pilot style and with determination to characterize him, he was able to maintain control until he crossed the goal in his first position. The pilot himself acknowledged how close he was to everything being ruined, but the victory had a special taste in the additional difficulty.

“In the first curve, I was sure because I saw Bezzecchi inside and that I could do a complete curve through the inside, but I didn’t know how much control the situation was.

This incident remained anecdote, but it helps us remember that every detail is important, even in Marquez’s absolute territory in MotoGP. The next appointment for the Motorcycling World Cup is scheduled for September 5th, 6th and 7th at the Barcelona-Catalonia circuit.
