Finlobanpe leads the start of the Paraguay Rally

Finland pilot Carre Robanpera (Toyota), marching second in the general classification World Rally Championship (WRC) is the leader in the launch of the Paraguay Rally on Land, the 10th Test of the competition.

Next to Solberg, Elfyn Evans secured second place overall by 51.8 points thanks to a perfect final day in which he fought off relentless pressure from Sébastien Ogier and scored more Super Sunday points than any other Rally 1 driver.

Ogier, a 10-time Monte Carlo winner, finished in 1 minute 10.4 seconds, but admitted he had no answer to his teammate’s pace in the ever-changing conditions.

The championship resumes with Rally Sweden (February 12-15). Rally Sweden is the season’s only pure winter event, with crews venturing through the frozen forests around Umeå.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc confirmed that the team did not encounter any serious problems during the races of the new Ferrari SF-26 car.

“From a performance perspective, it is too early to draw any conclusions. The conditions were not the best: fog and a wet track. This is not an ideal scenario for the first test.”

“It was very exciting because there is a huge amount of work behind it. It’s important to see real sensor data for the first time and make sure the car behaves as we expect it to.”
