John Martin adds minutes for U-21s in win over Romania
john martin He capped off his first call-up to the Spain Under-21s with another good performance in the visit to Romania, which David Gordo’s side won 0-2. Center back Curi Urdin started on the bench, but came on as a substitute in the 64th minute and played 26 minutes including stoppage time. when he ran onto the field Spain had already scored two goals in this match.His role was therefore focused on securing the result and providing composure in the final minutes. he did little defensive workbut he reacted resolutely with actions that had to intervene.
Despite not starting the second game, John Martin became the second Under-21 centre-back to play the most minutes during the break, surpassed only by: Jacobo Ramon and beyond that Mosquera. He played the full game in his debut match against San Marino and increased his playing time against Romania, both performances cementing his presence on the list going forward. The youth player has returned to the discipline of Real Sociedad after a great first experience with the Under-21 team.
