At the exit the director of Alpine F1
Alpine F1 announced the end of its collaboration with its general manager Marcin Budkovsky at a time when rumors emerged that his successor would become Otmar Zafnauer, who had left the Aston Martin F1 just days earlier.
At the beginning of a season in which Alpine F1 would like to benefit from a radical change in the technical regulations and play the leading role in Formula 1 with Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, the French team and general manager Marcin Budkowski announced their collaboration.
Alpine CEO Loren Rossi will lead the team until the pole is successful. Rumors of his replacement by former Aston Martin race director Otmar Zafnauer are mounting, as are reports that BWT – which has also stopped sponsoring Aston Martin – is following in Romania’s footsteps in Enstone.
Back to Budowski, the Pole successfully led the team in 2021, won the Hungarian GP and placed 5th in the constructors’ championship. He has been with Enstone since 2017 before the team was renamed from Renault to Alpine. Until then he was head of the technical department of the FIA, before that he worked for Prost, Ferrari and McLaren.
Lauren Rossi said that “II would like to thank Marcin Budkowski for his dedication and contribution to the team’s results over the past four years. The team is doing everything in its power to prepare the car for the first race in Bahrain and to go one step further in its performance.“.
