Formula 1 and the FIA have published images of what the new generation cars will look like.

The FIA has published renderings based on the update to the technical regulations. The 2026 cars will have active aerodynamics, slightly smaller dimensions, a 200 mm shorter wheelbase and 100 mm narrower chassis, and a slightly reduced minimum weight of 770 kg. However, many in the paddock doubt how realistic it is to reach this figure, especially in the first year of the new cycle.

In the new images, minor changes can be seen in the sidepods. The downforce of the new cars will be 15-30% less than the previous generation, while overall aerodynamic drag should be reduced by approximately 40%.

The renderings also show the new Pirelli tire branding for the 2026 season, which all teams are testing after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Tire diameter will remain at 18 inches, despite the FIA’s recommendation to switch to 16 inches, but the tires will be slightly narrower to reduce weight.
