There are still a few months left until the next MICFootball, but the organization already knows it will be a huge success from a participant perspective. Therefore, it will have to expand with two new headquarters, and the province of Girona will now include 45 municipalities.

The last two luxurious additions are Arbúcies and Flaça, which will make their football fields available for the world’s most important grassroots football tournament, which will be held from March 31st to April 5th, as the annual figures show.

“We have been pursuing it for a long time. We are changing the turf of the field and the clubs have also been working hand in hand in the same direction to make this possible. At last it has become a reality,” said Pere Garriga, Mayor of Albusise. “Thanks to the MIC, we are able to put Fraça on the sporting map and make an impact not only in Catalonia but also in other countries,” said Mayor João Adloher, while MIC Director of Football Maite Colomá used the opportunity to say: “We have always said that we feel at home in the province of Girona, so it is satisfying to see new venues open every year.”

It is already known that the opening match will take place in Figueres, as has been the case in recent editions, and it has also been chosen (along with Palamos) to host the weekend’s final. But those who can’t wait can travel to Banyoles to experience a small pre-MICFootball tournament.
