Xavier Bosch: I loved him and hated him.

Mr. Negreira’s excellent journalism
“Demolition of Negreirato” The information reported by Sportish last Saturday had an impact on the world. The information that Sergi Sole and Xavi Muñoz spent time working on has paid off. It was a game-by-game look back at the 17 seasons in which Barça ridiculously paid Jose Enriquez Negreira. When manager Sandro Rosell declared that he was under investigation, he called on the justice system to sit through every game of every season to audit refereeing errors. The judiciary has not done that and will not do it, but journalism has done it. Since Florentino’s club is the private prosecutor in this case, he not only reviewed Barça’s matches, but also those of Real Madrid at the time.
A seven-page report in Sportish (which was essential to cut out and save) shows that although Messi’s team was by far the best of its era, the refereeing did far more harm than good, and the white team found that many of the refereeing mistakes were on their side. It’s interesting to review game by game, conflict play by play. It was a perfect read for the end of the year.

The unfortunate battle between the sexes
It was a bad idea and the execution was even worse. The pseudo-tennis match between Kyrgios and Sabalenka was nonsense that benefited neither sport, tennis nor the equality movement. Everyone can play tennis with whomever they want, and against whomever they want, but when you have a match between the best woman on the planet and a man who is nearing retirement and losing in the ATP rankings, the rules have to change, and you can’t get off to a worse start than this. Reducing the footprint of women is an insult to Aryna Sabalenka, who seemed content with life. Knowing that a male player has no second choice, deciding that he only has one serve to secure the ball, and not serving with all his might shows a lack of respect not only for the Russian champion, but for all tennis players who have ever held a racket. The humiliation became a television spectacle and a worldwide horror. And she’s happy because she only lost 6-3 6-3. Please… People are willing to do the weirdest things for a few bucks. However, this incident remains one of the most disappointing sporting events of this century so far. And a quarter of it has already been consumed. We put our hands on our heads and wait for Billie Jean King’s reaction as she puts a dot over the “i”.
