Hajar prepares for Red Bull debut: “This will be my car”
After an impressive debut season, Isak Hajjar has been selected by Red Bull to replace Yuki Tsunoda in the first team squad for the 2026 season.
The Frenchman has realized that he cannot immediately compare with four-time champion Max Verstappen, but he is poised to interrupt his Dutch team-mates’ run of poor performances.
“The important thing is to be incredibly fast, to work well outside the car and with the team. It’s not just a mental approach, it’s about getting the job done on the track too.”
Hajjar stressed that he spent the previous season focusing on his own business in F1 without closely following the results of senior drivers. Currently, Red Bull is actively preparing for his integration into the team:
“I had to do everything possible here to get to Red Bull. They didn’t pay much attention to what the more experienced drivers were doing.”
“But obviously the focus is changing and I can’t wait to come to Milton Keynes and start working with the team during January and February.”
“It won’t be easy, but this is where I can make a difference because the car isn’t ready yet. There’s only one car, and that’s a simulator. It’s a lot of work and I can’t just relax.”
“It won’t be fun, but this is where I can make a difference because the car hasn’t been built yet. There’s only one car and that’s a simulator. There’s so much to do. I could afford more holidays, but what’s the point?”
