Cadillac pilot named the F1 team he is happy to leave
Valtteri Bottas revealed which Formula 1 team he was happy to leave during his career.
The Finnish driver will return to F1 in 2026, driving Cadillac, after taking a break for the 2025 season, where he served as Mercedes’ reserve and third driver. He previously raced for Sauber (now Audi) but failed to score a single point in his final season in 2024.
In a recent interview with Cadillac’s new teammate Sergio Perez on Hot Ones Versus, the Mexican driver asked Bottas:
– Which of the five teams you played for did you want to leave the most?
– I am an honest person. Of course, there were different circumstances; How and why you left the team, different reasons. But to be honest… Although I still have good memories, I was happy to leave Sauber at the end of the season due to certain circumstances.
Before this, Valtteri raced for Williams, Mercedes and Alfa Romeo (later Sauber).
Bottas’ best results of his F1 career remain second place in the 2019 and 2020 seasons when he raced for Mercedes.
