This is how Edgar Canet reads his Dakar roadbook at 170km/h
Edgar Canet explained how a motorcycle rider can read a roadbook while traveling at speeds of nearly 170 km/h through a desert full of traps. The young pilot showed us several pages of these documents. It contains instructions that make it easy for organizations to follow the correct route through each step, and also explains in detail the meaning of the various situations.
Edgar emphasized that the roadbook is distributed just minutes before each stage, requiring quick interpretation on the spot. Motorcycles now no longer use traditional paper formats, but instead use tablets built into the cockpit, from which riders move back and forth between vignettes using buttons on the handlebars.
