Cadillac boss announces goal for first season in Formula 1
Graham Loudon, president of Formula 1 Cadillac’s new team, shared his expectations for the start of the 2026 season, when the American team will debut as the 11th team.
Cadillac’s main goal initially will be to gain the respect of other teams and demonstrate professionalism in their work. From now on, the team strives not only to compete, but also to contribute to the development of the sport and attract new fans.
Loudon noted that new regulations make it very difficult to predict results:
When asked about the Australian Grand Prix, Loudon said: “It’s complicated. Success in the race in Melbourne; nobody knows, nobody knows where anyone is going to finish.”
“If you ask any team manager in which position they would be competitive and they give you a relative answer, that’s just wishful thinking. Nobody knows, so the fans are watching.”
“We look at what we can control ourselves. We want to do good things as a team, but no one can see it from the outside. One of the things we often say is that our first goal is to gain the respect of other teams. We respect them, and rightly so. This is the World Championship, so that is our first goal.”
“So the important thing for us is, we don’t want fans to follow what we do. We want them to join us.”
The team plans to unveil its 2026 uniforms with a promotional video during the Super Bowl on Feb. 8, and the first preseason testing will take place next week. The first Grand Prix of the season will take place in Australia from 6 to 8 March.
