The lone performance of Boudros

Vassilis Boudros, on the other hand, had the added difficulty that all riders on the bikes had to both ride alone and navigate. Despite competing in Dakar for the first time, he not only finished but also climbed to 70th place among 144 riders who started 12 days earlier than Jeddah. An apparent achievement.

Vassilis took part in a Husqvarna 450 Rally prepared by his team Nomadas Adventure and nicknamed it “Voukefalas”. After the reconnaissance start, which found him 97th, he gradually began to impressively increase his pace and steadily gain positions.

A couple of painless falls and a few lost time control points were his only unlucky moments in an overall impressive performance for 12 days. He described his experiences daily on his Facebook page.

After a rest day in Riyadh on Saturday 08/01, he continued his lead in the second week, eventually finishing 70th overall, including a 56-minute missed checkpoint penalty – while posting even better times in individual qualifiers . It was an impressive debut for the 37-year-old rider in the most difficult race of his rich career.
