Formula 1 (Mercedes) driver Lewis Hamilton posted a motivational post on social networks, describing his victory with a broken arm at the age of 15.
“When I was 15, I fell off my bike and injured my ankle. The next day I was in so much pain that I drove myself to the hospital where the doctors told me I was broken and needed a cast. I had just started the European Formula A Championship and that meant I couldn’t compete. I was so scared of McLaren. I couldn’t afford to lose my contract with him.
So I did what I had to do: remove the cast, put on a lighter cast, and race with one arm. I won this championship. Since then, I know that when I fight for it, I can overcome anything. Whether it’s driving with an injured wrist or fighting for a spot on the starting grid, as I did last weekend. The same goes for you. Fight for what you want and you will get it,” Hamilton wrote.
