British motorcycle rider dies in infamous Isle of Man TT race
British driver Mark Purslow died in an accident during qualifying for the Isle of Man TT race on the Isle of Man. About it reported competition organizers.
The fatal crash involving the 29-year-old rider occurred on Wednesday. He fell off the bike at high speed during a lap.
“TT races will continue, but always with Mark in mind,” the organizers said in a statement.
The race on the Isle of Man takes place for the first time since 2019, races in the last two seasons have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event has been held annually for many years, while the track around the island is considered one of the most dangerous in the world – more than 200 riders have died here at different times.
