Formula 1 world champion Max Ferstappen is just 24 years old but has already completed seven seasons in Formula 1 – so he has not even ruled out leaving the sport when his contract with Red Bull Racing expires in 2028.

Max Ferstappen recently signed the legendary $50m annual deal with Red Bull, which will keep him at Milton Keynes until 2028 – unless he chooses to leave 1.

The Dutchman, of course, said he had no idea what he wanted to do after 2028 and continued: “Maybe I should stop. I’ve been in Formula 1 since I was 17. It’s been a long time. I’ve done several seasons. Maybe I want to do something different“.

I want to make other kinds of games. Endurance races, for example. Or until then, maybe I’m tired of traveling all the time. Maybe I want a simpler life and just race what I like‘ Max added.

Regarding his wishes after the end of his driving career in Formula 1, the 24-year-old said that he does not want to stay in the sport from another position: “You won’t see me as an analyst or in a team role. I have no motivation for that. When I’m not driving, I want to do other interesting things. It’s nice to still be competitive in old age. The problem is that when I compete somewhere, I just want to win“.

This was the second time Max admitted he would like to compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), specifically in 24 Hours of Le Mans. If he leaves Formula 1 at the age of 31, he even has the chance of a second career if he wants to.

After all, his father and former F1 driver Son Ferstappen returned to racing at 49 to enjoy rallying – originally from the Belgian Championship, while rumors have it that he could also compete in the WRC this year. “Your whole life revolves around Formula 1 and at some point you don’t want it anymoresaid son Ferstappen.
