Max Ferstappen took his second win in a row and third overall win this season. The world champion saw the checkered flag first ahead of Saint and Hamilton, who returned to the podium in a battle for nerves of steel, with the battle focused on strategy.

Max Ferstappen was the winner of the Canadian GP. The Dutch Red Bull driver clinched his second straight win this year and third overall when he took the checkered flag first at the Montreal circuit. The Red Bulls’ strategy paid off, as did his driving skills, which held Saint back.

After the first race, Lewis Hamilton returned to the podium in third place. He put up very good fights while Mercedes’ strategy of putting him in the pits as a virtual safety car was crucial. Leclerc was fifth and started from last place.

Regarding the ranking of the drivers, o The Dutchman eluded second Perez by 46 points while Leclerc closed his gap to the Mexican by three.

Where the win was counted

Victory in Canada was measured by both Red Bull’s strategy and resistance to pressure from Ferstappen. Let’s take things from the beginning. Max Ferstappen showed his intentions from the start. He started well, was not threatened by Alonso and tried to escape early. On lap 10 he used a virtual safety car due to Perez’s abandonment and swapped tires with Hamilton and they hit hard.

The Dutchman finished 4th but climbed up to 2nd on fresh tires. On lap 21, the World Champion returned to the lead as Saint also lined up to switch under Virtual Security Car status.

Ferstappen was around six seconds away from the Ferrari Spaniard and made the second substitution on lap 44. He even got behind Hamilton, whom he overtook almost immediately, with the Brit also coming in for a change.

ΣOn lap 48, Chunoda had an exit when the safety car showed up. It was the moment Saint came in for his own substitution and Max took the reins again. By the finale, the Scuderia Spaniard was less than a second behind the world champion. However, he didn’t move and Ferstappen saw the checkered flag.

The phase of the game

One of the nicest phases of the race was Ferstappen’s return from the second pit stop. The Dutch manager came out narrowly with Lewis Hamilton. The Brit won the first fight, and the Montreal crowd was outraged. Maybe he remembered their big duel in the last fight of the previous season.

Shortly before the last corner, however, Ferstappen managed to overtake the seven-time world champion, who, however, did not push when entering the pits. However, it was a moment that reminded me of the old days.

What follows
