MotoGP: Mark Marketh returns to the track in February
The Repsol Honda team has officially announced that the evolution testing of the RC213V will be conducted at the Sepang Circuit by Mark Market.
Mark Marketh has been given the green light to return to MotoGP circuits. The Repsol Honda Team’s Spanish rider will lead the new Honda RC213V in testing, which will take place in Sepang on February 5, 2022.
All winter Marketh was under medical supervision for diplopia, which he was diagnosed after falling last October.
His condition has improved significantly in recent weeks and his medical team believe he can now return to the track. Marquez first returned to the motocross circuit, then tested the RC213V-S in Portimao, Portugal and a CBR600RR in Aragon.
Last Monday, January 24th, the Honda rider underwent another medical check which confirmed the treatment had been successful and the eight-time world champion is in good shape to compete again in MotoGP.
Therefore, for 2022, Marketh will start the first official development tests in Sepang, Malaysia, before being in Mandalika, Indonesia a week later. The Spaniard returns to MotoGP after a three and a half month absence from the Emilia Romagna GP race, which he won ahead of teammate Paul Espargaro.
