Ferrari driver Leclerc starts from pole position at Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix

Monegasque Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has won the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix qualification.

He showed on the fastest lap the result of 1 minute 20.161 seconds.

Second place was taken by Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen. His time was 0.145 seconds behind Leclerc’s result.

The third was another Ferrari driver Spaniard Carlos Sainz.

The current world champion Verstappen will lose five places on the grid at the Italian Grand Prix. The leader of the championship “Formula 1” fined for replacing the internal combustion engine.

Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas will lose 15 positions for replacing engine and transmission parts. The Spaniard Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), the Briton Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda (Alfa Tauri) will start from the end of the grid in Monza.

Thai rider “Williams” Alexander Albon will miss the remainder of the Italian Grand Prix due to appendicitis. He was replaced by reserve pilot Nick de Vries from the Netherlands.

The Italian Grand Prix will take place on September 11, starting at 16:00 Moscow time.

The British driver of the McLaren team, Lando Norris, received the Formula 1 championship cup for winning the individual competition of the 2025 season, the series press service reports.

The FIA Awards ceremony took place in Tashkent.

The capital of Uzbekistan is hosting the FIA General Assembly, which held elections for the organization’s president on Friday. President Mohammed bin Sulayem was re-elected to a second four-year term. Ben Sulayem took part in the awards ceremony for Norris and other FIA Awards winners.

On Sunday, 26-year-old Norris finished third in the final race of the 2025 season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and won the championship title for the first time in his career, ending the four-year hegemony of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. In the team competition (Constructors’ Championship), McLaren won.

A street in the British county of Somerset has been renamed in honor of the 2025 Formula 1 champion, British McLaren driver Lando Norris, reports crash.net

Norris was born in Bristol and attended school in Street, Somerset. The pedestrian area at Clark’s Village in the Street is now Lando Lane and new signage has already been installed.

“Lando is a local hero, and we are all very happy that he became a world champion.” He spent his early years here in Somerset and it was during this period of his life that he took up karting, a path that would eventually lead him to become the best in Formula One,” said facility director Chris Davies.

On Sunday, 26-year-old Norris took third place in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race and won the championship title for the first time in his career, breaking the hegemony of Max Verstappen from Red Bull.

Max Verstappen became the highest paid Formula 1 driver in 2025, Forbes reports.

During the season, the 28-year-old Red Bull driver from the Netherlands earned $76 million, of which $65 million was salary and $11 million in bonuses.

Second on this list is seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. During his debut season at Ferrari, the 40-year-old Briton earned 70.5 million, of which the bonus amounted to 500 thousand. Hamilton had the worst year of his career and missed out on the Grand Prix podium for the first time this season.

Third place on the list was taken by 2025 world champion Lando Norris (57.5 million) from McLaren. With a salary of 18 million, the British pilot received a large bonus of 39.5 million for his first title.
