Verstappen wins fifth in a row ahead of Leclerc at Ferrari’s home Grand Prix

The current world champion and leader of the Formula 1 championship Max Verstappen won the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.

The Dutch Red Bull racer started the race seventh due to a penalty, but already in the first part of the distance he led the peloton. For him, this victory was the fifth in a row.

Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), the owner of pole position, finished second, the exchange of positions between the pilots took place after the pit stops. Briton George Russell (Mercedes) closed the top three. Championship debutant Nick de Vries, who temporarily replaced Thai driver Alexander Albon at the wheel of Williams, earned two points.

The next stage of the championship will be held in Singapore from September 30 to October 2.
