The father of the deceased Formula 1 pilot accused the organizers of the Japanese Grand Prix of disrespect for the memory of his son
Philippe Bianchi, the father of former Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi, who died in 2015, accused the Japanese Grand Prix organizers of disrespect for his son’s memory after the incident with the recovery tractor leaving the track in the rain.
Sunday’s race in Japan was abandoned on the third lap due to bad weather. Prior to the suspension of the race due to the accident, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz and Williams driver Alexander Albon were eliminated. The recovery vehicle was heading towards the incidents. Alpha Tauri pilot Pierre Gasly criticized the evacuation tractor that appeared on the track, as it could threaten his life.
“No respect for the life of a pilot. No respect for the memory of Jules,” Philippe Bianchi wrote on the social network.
At the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix, Bianchi crashed into a tow truck and died in July 2015 from severe injuries.
