The Dutch pilot of Red Bull Max Verstappen became the first at the Japanese Grand Prix, starting from pole position.
The second place was taken by another rider of the team, Mexican Sergio Perez, the third was the Ferrari pilot Charles Leclerc. Monegasque finished above the Mexican, but lost his position due to a five-second penalty. These results allowed Verstappen to win a second Formula 1 title ahead of schedule.
The race in Japan was abandoned on the third lap due to bad weather. Prior to its suspension, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz and Williams driver Alexander Albon were out due to an accident. The competition resumed two hours later for 40 minutes.
The next round of Formula 1 will take place from 21 to 23 October in the USA.
