Schumacher’s son leaves Haas at the end of the season, the team has already found a replacement

US Formula One team Haas have announced they are parting ways with German driver Mick Schumacher at the end of the current season.

The German has been with the team since 2021. Schumacher scored 12 points this season, placing 16th in the standings.

— I would like to thank Mick Schumacher for his contribution to the team in the last two seasons. His level of performance in the youth series was well known, and he continued to grow and develop as a driver during his time with Haas, leading him to his first successes and points this season. We decided to go in different directions, but the whole team wishes Mick good luck in the next steps of his career path and beyond, – quotes the words of the head of “Haas” Günter Steiner, the press service of the team.

Last season, Schumacher was teammate of Russian Nikita Mazepin, with whom the team terminated the contract in March 2022.

Also on Thursday, a message appeared on the official Formula 1 website stating that Nico Hulkenberg, who already has experience in the “royal races”, will compete for Haas from 2023. In the 2022 season, the German was a reserve pilot for Aston Martin.
