Carlos Sainz achieved 10 podiums in the 2022 Formula 1 season and one of them happened in Saudi Arabian Grand Prixat a circuit in Jeddah that Ferrari liked well enough, although they did not take the win.

The Spaniard will try in 2023 to improve his best result in Saudi urban layout that Formula 1 launched in December 2021with the penultimate match of that championship.

Carlos Sainz’s record at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Carlos Sainz’s story in Saudi Arabia did not get off to the best start: the Spanish driver and his Ferrari struggled in the first outings at the Jeddah circuit and, although he comfortably passed Q1, he suffered in Q2 with car control problems, failing to close out a competitive round and finished 15th in one of his worst qualifiers of the season.

Already in the race, Sainz barely made it to eighth place and finished just behind teammate Charles Leclerc.

F1 returned to Saudi Arabia three months later for the second race of the 2022 season, a Grand Prix in which things went much better for Sainz. The Spaniard was the best in Q1 and Q2 and lost it pole position by just two tenths compared to Czech Pérez: Sainz qualified third.

Already in the race, the man from Madrid could not compete for the victory against the winner Verstappen and against Charles Leclerc, but after winning Czech Pérez thanks to his strategy pit stopSainz managed to finish third for his sixth Ferrari podium finish.
