Circuit Barcelona-Catalunya is not used to giving very good races despite the participation of the local crowd. A circumstance that could change favorably in this 2023 due to a little change in layout structure. For the first time since 2006, the latter sector will regain its original form, ie a long right-hander instead of a complicated succession of low-speed turns.

The persistence of fans, drivers and teams made this change possible at the Catalan circuit. In such a way that after passing his belt The Caixa Runners will be able to go almost full throttle until they reach the finish line. The slight slope of this long curve will allow for more and better overtaking options, as well as making it easier for teams to set up.

This remarkable change will be very interesting in both qualifying and the race as, for the last decade, drivers have had to save tires to tackle the final sector without overheating the tyres. Now, they will be able to be more aggressive around the track and even improve wear.
