Michael Schumacher’s family plans to sue a German magazine for publishing an AI-generated interview with the Formula 1 legend, ESPN reports.
German publication Die Aktuelle ran a cover promising an exclusive interview with Schumacher, who has not been seen in public since he suffered a serious head injury while skiing in December 2013.
The magazine announced that it had its first interview with the seven-time Formula 1 champion, promising: “No vague, vague half hints from friends. But the answers are from him! Michael Schumacher, 54 years old!
Only after an “interview” with Schumacher did it become clear that the article had been generated by an artificial intelligence chatbot.
A spokesman for the Schumacher family confirmed that lawsuits would be filed.
The current condition of the ex-racer is kept secret by the Schumacher family.
