American actor Brad Pitt received special permission to drive the parade (warm-up) lap ahead of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, reports The Sun.
The Hollywood star is playing an F1 driver in the film, which is co-produced by Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, and the race will take place as part of the filming of the film. The speed of vehicles will be limited, but still carries certain risks.
“The bosses of the film pushed through a risky decision – billions of pounds worth of fireballs would be at stake – to make the shooting as realistic as possible,” says a source from The Sun.
Pitt received permission to drive around the track behind the wheel of a car that looked like a Formula 1 car before the start of the British Grand Prix. The shots taken will be used in the film.
The Formula 1 round in the UK will take place at the Silverstone circuit from 7 to 9 July.
