Red Bull driver Max Verstappen wins the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.
The leader of the current season won the second victory in his career in Monaco. With seven laps to go, Verstappen hit the wall with his right rear wheel, but that didn’t stop him from getting ahead of Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso by nearly half a minute.
Alonso was second, third place was taken by Esteban Ocon (Alpin).
Verstappen’s closest competitor in the championship, Sergio Perez (Red Bull), after starting from last place, finished 16th and scored no points this weekend.
Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) became the author of the best circle.
In the second half of the race it began to rain, which continued for several laps, most of the pilots finished on intermediate tires.
Verstappen increased his lead over Perez in the individual standings from 14 to 39 points. The current world champion has 144 points, the Mexican has 105 points left. Alonso, who is in third place, scored 93 points.
