In an effort to reach a larger audience and followers, the Formula 1 applies from 2021 h sprint races. These, which have an extension of 100km, are run on Saturdays and until 2022 defined the starting order of the ‘long’ race on Sunday, although this has changed for the 2023 season.
The queen class has created its own sprint classification called the sprint shootout. That way, Friday’s qualifying will determine the starting positions on Sunday. There will be six Grand Prix that will host the modality.
The 2023 Azerbaijan GP was the first to create it, followed by Austria (July 1), Belgium (July 29), Qatar (October 7), United States (October 21) and Brazil (November 4).
