Leclerc won pole at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Sainz showed the second fastest time in qualifying, but due to a penalty he will start 12th

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc won qualifying for the Las Vegas Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The Monegasque completed his best lap in the third segment in 1 minute 32.726 seconds. This is his fifth pole position of the season and 23rd in his career.
Just 44 thousandths of a second was lost to another Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz. Three-time world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) was third.
Due to a 10-place penalty for replacing the battery, Sainz will start 12th, Verstappen will start the race second.
Seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Sergio Perez (Red Bull) did not make it to the final segment, showing 11th and 12th times respectively.
American Williams driver Logan Sargent was seventh, the best result of his career in qualifying.
The race will take place on Sunday, starting at 9:00 (Moscow time).
Las Vegas is hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix for the first time since 1982.
