When does the 2024 F1 season start?

The start of the 2024 season will not take place on a Friday, but on a Thursday. And this is because the match will take place on Saturday and not Sunday for Ramadan, the Muslim holiday. Engines will start on February 29th to be released on Sunday, December 8 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

On Thursday there will be two training sessions, on Friday March 1 there will be a third training session plus classification. On Saturday the 2nd Grand Prix will be held at the Bahrain International Circuit. The last three editions have had different winners: Lewis Hamilton in 2021, Charles Leclerc in 2022 and Max Verstappen in 2023.

The most successful driver in Bahrain is Hamilton with 5 winss, followed by Sebastian Vettel with 4 and Fernando Alonso with 3. Leclerc’s victory in 2022 allowed Ferrari to be the most victorious team in the Middle East: it has 7 celebrations, one more than Mercedes.
