Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has signed a multi-year contract with Ferrari, which will be valid from 2025, the press service of the Italian Formula 1 team reports.

The exact terms of the agreement have not been announced. The 39-year-old Briton will replace Spaniard Carlos Sainz, who will spend his last season in the Italian team. Monegasque Charles Leclerc previously signed a multi-year contract with the team.

Ferrari is pleased to announce that Lewis Hamilton will join the team in 2025 on a multi-year contract.

Earlier, the German Mercedes team, for which Hamilton has played since 2013, announced his departure at the end of the 2024 season. The Briton won six championship titles with Mercedes (another at McLaren in 2008).

Hamilton shares the record with Michael Schumacher for the most Formula 1 titles and is the only driver to win 100 or more championship races (103 wins).
