For the three-time world champion and leader of the current championship, this is the fourth victory in five races in the 2024 season.

Lando Norris (McLaren) finished second, for whom this was the best result of the season, and Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez was third.

The best lap of the race was set by Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin). Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who started from 18th position, was able to finish in the top 10 and earn two points.

Verstappen now has 58 career race victories. The Red Bull driver leads the individual standings with 110 points. Second is Perez (85), third is Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc (76).

The Chinese Grand Prix was held for the first time since 2019. In 2020–2023, the race was not held in Shanghai due to the COVID‑19 pandemic.
