Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won the race of the 10th stage of the Formula 1 championship, the Spanish Grand Prix, which took place in Barcelona.

Lando Norris (McLaren), who started from pole position, finished second. Seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) closed the top three.

At the start, Verstappen overtook Norris in the first turn, and then both of them were passed on the outside trajectory by George Russell, who took the lead of the race. At the beginning of the third lap, Verstappen also overtook the Mercedes driver in the first turn in the fight for first position.

After the pit stops, Norris was second and closed the gap to Verstappen in the final laps, but ended up losing 2.2 seconds to him. The McLaren driver earned an extra point for the best lap in the race.

Hamilton reached the podium for the first time this season.

Verstappen, who now has 219 points, remains in the lead in the individual standings. Norris came into second place (150), ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc (148).

In the Constructors’ Championship, the first place is occupied by Red Bull (330), second by Ferrari (270), and third by McLaren (237).

The next stage will take place in Austria on June 28–30.
