American Formula 1 team Haas has announced a multi-year contract with French driver Esteban Ocon.
In June, it became known that the 27-year-old driver would leave Alpine at the end of the 2024 season. The Frenchman drove for the Enstone-based team for five years, during which time he won the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix and also finished on the podium twice.
“I am very excited to begin this new chapter in my Formula 1 career and join the Haas team from the start of the 2025 season. I will be joining a very ambitious racing team whose spirit, work ethic and undeniable development trajectory have truly impressed me. I would like to thank Gene Haas and Ayao Komatsu for their trust and support, as well as our honest and fruitful discussions over the past few months. The team has exciting plans and clear goals for the future, and I look forward to working with everyone involved,” said Ocon.
After 13 stages, Ocon is in 18th place in the Formula 1 standings, with 3 points.
