Mercedes driver Hamilton wins third practice session of Italian Grand Prix
Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time in the third free practice session at the Italian Grand Prix at the Monza circuit.
The Mercedes driver completed his best lap in 1 minute 20.117 seconds. Only 0.093 seconds behind him was fellow Mercedes driver George Russell, who finished second. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari, +0.109) rounded out the top three.
Championship leader Max Verstappen (Red Bull) showed the sixth time (+0.251), his closest competitor in the personal standings, Lando Norris (McLaren), was fifth (+0.145).
Hamilton had previously become the best in the second practice session, while Verstappen topped the timesheets in the first.
Qualifying will begin in Monza on Saturday at 17:00 Moscow time. The race will take place on Sunday.
