Norris fastest in second practice for Singapore Grand Prix
McLaren driver Lando Norris set the fastest time in the second free practice session of the 18th round of the Formula 1 championship, the Singapore Grand Prix.
The Briton’s result was 1 minute 30.727 seconds. Only 0.058 seconds behind him was Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), who came in second. The third result was shown by Carlos Sainz (Ferrari, +0.629 seconds).
McLaren’s second driver Oscar Piastri finished fifth (+0.747). Reigning world champion and season leader Max Verstappen (Red Bull) posted only the 15th fastest time (+1.294).
George Russell crashed his car in the final minutes of the second practice session. The Mercedes driver was uninjured and was able to reach the pits.
The Formula 1 championship round in Singapore takes place from September 20 to 22.
