Red Bull driver Max Verstappen said that the 20 penalty seconds he received at the Mexican Grand Prix was a lot.

During the race, Verstappen was given two ten-second penalties for tackling Lando Norris (McLaren). As a result, Norris finished second, Verstappen sixth.

– If you are slower, then you will end up in this position. I won’t just give up positions. In the end, it’s not about whether I agree with the fine or not, although 20 seconds is a lot. Our main problem today is the lack of pace. This is what I worry about most. The pace was weak, this needs to be addressed. Even without penalties, we had no chance to fight in front. I’m not worried about fighting for the title, but it was a really bad race for us. “I know the car can go better, so we need to keep working,” Verstappen was quoted as saying by Sky Sports F1.

The winner of the Mexican Grand Prix was the Spaniard Carlos Sainz (Ferrari). In the overall standings, Max Verstappen (362 points) is in first place, Lando Norris is second (315 points), and Charles Leclerc (291 points) is third.
